Authorities have become increasingly concerned as the violence escalates, particularly given that the Houthi group reportedly killed at least 30 government soldiers in the Hadramout and Marib provinces just one day prior.

In response to the recent incidents, the Yemeni government issued a strong condemnation of the attack, emphasizing the humanitarian implications. The Ministry of Public Health and Population stated that targeting civilian population centers and displacement camps contradicts international humanitarian standards and established human rights protocols. They stressed the need for the international community and humanitarian organizations to take active measures to safeguard civilians and prevent ongoing violence.

Since seizing control of Yemen’s capital, Sanaa, in 2014, the Iran-backed Houthis have engaged in a protracted struggle against the Saudi-supported, internationally recognized Yemeni government, notably impacting the port city of Aden.
