The BRICS bloc, which represents over half of the global population and 40% of the world’s economic output, is expanding its influence. Since its inception in 2009 and the subsequent inclusion of additional members like Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates, the organization has attracted interest from over 30 nations considering membership or partnership. This summit marks a significant turning point, particularly with the recent inclusion of Indonesia and the continued commitment of leaders such as India’s Prime Minister Narendra Modi and South Africa’s President Cyril Ramaphosa to engage in meaningful dialogue.
