The detailed report indicates that Save the Children verified 41,763 grave violations against children last year, representing a significant 30 percent increase from 2023. This situation translates to an average of 78 children facing severe violations daily, including being killed, maimed, abducted, or subjected to sexual abuse. In environments characterized by militarization, children frequently experience disruptions to their education, forced displacement, and enduring mental and physical trauma.

Africa now holds the unfortunate title of having the highest number and proportion of children living in conflict zones, with 218 million children affected.
